Running five years strong, Olive Crest’s Pro-Am Fishing Tournament “Hook’em for Their Future” continues to be one of the most unique tournaments to support a charity through fishing.
Led by Honorary Chair Kirk Hayhurst, Meat and Seafood Merchandiser at Food 4 Less, this tournament will allow 150 anglers from the Food and other industries to join the Top 40 Pro Bass Fisherman to compete for prizes in a competition to catch the largest limit of 5 saltwater bass along California’s very scenic coastline.
The shot gun start of the tournament of 40 boats will take place at the mouth of Long Beach Harbor where everyone will fish from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. with the weigh-in being held at the Long Beach Yacht Club. Afterwards anglers will enjoy a spectacular gourmet dinner and awards ceremony.
They hope to raise over $150,000 for the children of Olive Crest with this exclusive tournament.
Mixing established formats into the unique characteristics of the salt water bass fishery, a high level of angler interest and participation was immediately created.
This tournament targets 3 species of saltwater bass along the rich California coast. By adhering to strict rule formatting, proper fish care, and mindful scheduling, this tournament remains conservation minded of the fisheries, ecosystems and environments along the California coast.
